We sell Block 4 by the glass and it has been universally liked and accepted. It's a very unique meritage that pleases Cab drinkers even though there's no Cab in it. I find iot food friendly as well as excellent alone. I stumbled across this site while re-ordering Block 4 - very nice job James. I can highly recommend David's other wines as well, The Zin, Petite Syrah and Sangiovese are all quite nice. When it comes to "new" wines, Coffaro is one of the best.

Ah, I see those car-boys! Yeah, I have those in my cellar at times, too. (Right now, we have about 9 of them at my in-law's.)

Wow, I want some of this! A quick Wine-Searcher check - just one unfamilar (to me) retailer in MI has it. :(

Great write-up, too.

Hi Jeff-

I couldn't agree more. Reminds me of a discussion a while back (perhaps on an old Grape Radio podcast?) where a distinction was made between "wine retailers" and "wine merchants".

The wine retailer merely provides a place to buy wine and relies on shelf talkers or their customers' own experience to help them decide on what wines to buy.

A wine merchant, on the other hand, typically hand-selects the wines they offer and brings a depth of knowledge about their wines and often the preferences of their customers.

There are just a few wine shops in my area that I would consider wine merchants, Fosco's Italian Market being one of them.

Thanks for stopping by.

A recommendation in a good wine shop is, I think, the best way to come across great wine.

Thanks, Amy.

It's funny you should say that. As my wife looked over my shoulder while I was working on this post, she saw the picture and asked if we had anymore of this wine to open.

She wanted a sip too!

This wine wraps you and the entrees you are dining on in seductive envelope, with a long and rapturous finish.

Well worth the pursuit!

Mom, I owe it all to you! Thanks for including me in the kitchen and kindling my love for cooking. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without PBB's.

Bev, thank you for the kind words. For the first time I served merely as a supervisor (and photographer). The girls did all the baking this year and they did a terrific job!

Pat, thank you so much for stopping by. Isn't cooking with kids so rewarding? In this age of fast food and instant gratification, it's nice when they want to take the time to create something from scratch.
